We’re the proud new owners of a lovely pellet grill and decided to break it in by making a pizza!
First thing was to get a pizza stone large enough for a decent-sized pizza. This 16-inch stone seemed a good choice. The secret to a crispy crust is to heat the stone thoroughly (at least 30 minutes) so it’s hot when you put the dough on it.
We also needed a pizza peel, which we got here. (Amazon has some options, but we wanted a larger one and were willing to put in the time to finish the wood with a butcher block oil finish.)
Once we had those things, we were ready to go! We used this recipe from SimplyRecipes.com. Our grill created a tasty, smoky flavor due to the wood pellets. It was delicious!
